VISION & VALUES
The vision and values of Cultivate Community Church begin from the conviction that the Gospel of Jesus was meant to permeate every part of our lives. We believe that humankind was created to experience union with God the father, a lifestyle that was demonstrated through Jesus the Son and enabled through the power of the Holy Spirit. We experience this union through the spiritual practices of worship, prayer, Scripture reading and meditation, fasting, tithing, rest, service, and Christian fellowship.
It’s our conviction that a body of believers living out these practices in community has the power to transform households, neighborhoods, and cities into conformity with the Kingdom of God. We believe that God has ordered the rhythms of our lives in such a way that as we work and eat and commune with our neighbors and produce the fruits of the Spirit in the midst of it, we shine the light of Christ to the lost. This is the primary way God uses his people to bring people to himself.
BELONG. GROW. PURSUE.
Belonging can precede belief - There is no doctrinal requirement to engage in community. We believe that the process of discipleship can begin before a person is ready to commit to following Jesus.
You grow where you’re planted - Wherever God has placed you (your neighborhood, your workplace, your school, etc.), he wants to use you as an ambassador of the Kingdom.
We are called and sent people - God has a mission in this world. He’s in the business of mending brokenness, restoring what’s been lost, and reconciling everything to himself—and he’s chosen to do all of this by using mended, restored, and reconciled people.
Multiplication over inflation - The purpose of the Great Commission is to make disciples, not congregants. Our vision is not to build large gatherings on Sunday mornings, but to create more opportunities for people to engage in Christian community. This can happen through a multiplication of house churches meeting in more locations around the valley, or it can happen through a multiplication of micro-churches in different cities.
